Capability Summary

Johnson Centrifugal Technology Brochure

ALLOYS

  • All Copper based cast alloys (except silicon bronze and beryllium copper).
  • All Aluminum-based cast and wrought equivalent alloys such as 6061 and 7075. Custom alloys available in small lot sizes.
  • Cast stainless steels contained in ASTM A743, A297, and A351.
  • Many custom Nickel and Copper-Nickel alloys

SIZES

  • 3 through 84 inch (27mm to 2100mm) diameter.

CENTRIFUGAL CAST WEIGHT RANGE

  • Formed weights to 14,000 pounds (6400 kg).

MACHINING

  • Modern Computer Numeric Control (CNC) turning, milling, and drilling for sizes above.

LEAD TIMES

  • Normal lead times from 1 to 7 weeks for rough and machined components.

POINTS TO REMEMBER

  • Johnson Brass and Machine focuses on applications where the vertical centrifugal cast alternative is the most economical method to produce the required quality component.
  • Our vertical centrifugal formings are usually produced with length to diameter ratios of less than 2:1.
  • Our continuing investment in the latest Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machining equipment is complemented by our in house metallurgical lab, complete certified Non-destructive Test (NDT) testing capabilities, and improved foundry capacity.
  • In commonly available copper based alloys (CDA 932 and 954), we offer our best value in the 14 inch and over size range. As the diameter increases our formings become even better values.
  • Uncommon alloys, heat treatment, near-net shaping, Non-destructive Testing (NDT) or certification requirements allow us to save you cost on your centrifugal forming requirements.
